Tools & Standards
We believe that continuous learning is a vital part of our success. Technologies for the Internet and Web arrive and evolve rapidly, and we know we must be adaptable to this change. We are in a continuous state of learning and prototyping.
We are often asked, "Do you know tool X or technology Y?" With so many tools and technologies on the market today, it's impossible to know them all. What we do know is that we expect to be using something new next week, next month, or next year. So, our answer is quite simple - at Blue Atlas we're excellent "software people", and inherent in any good software company is the ability to adapt and learn. This is at the foundation of our company culture.
Standards lessen the impact of evolving technologies and allow us to develop products and services that can inter-operate with one another. This is where the world of Web-based services is going, using technologies like XML, SOAP, and UDDI. Blue Atlas is already there.
A large part of our business is getting disparate applications to "talk" - transfer or import data, appear to be the same product when multiple parties are involved, etc. Today's Internet standards make this possible, without continuously reinventing the wheel.
